Ukash, the world's fastest growing prepaid-cash issuing network,
has been awarded the 'Best Virtual Prepaid Card' by Paybefore
magazine, the leading title for the prepaid industry in the United
States.
An independent panel of judges - all experts in the prepaid
market - were assembled by Paybefore to recognise the best
programmes and people in the worldwide prepaid community and this
year's awards were more hotly contested than ever.
The award is a great accolade for Ukash, which has been
recognised for its growing range of innovative prepaid solutions,
as well as its international development over the last 12
months.
In this time, Ukash has significantly extended its geographical
reach with launches in North and South America and Australia, in
addition to expanding its offering within Europe. Ukash - which is
also available securely online - now has more than 300,000 physical
points of purchase globally and is available in 29 countries
worldwide.
The ultimate vision for Ukash is to allow everybody, anywhere in
the world to shop, pay and play online using cash. By allowing
consumers to pay anonymously online using cash, Ukash opens up
internet shopping to the huge number of global consumers that are
either unbanked or concerned by the risk of online identity
theft.
Commenting on receiving the 'Best Virtual Prepaid Card' award,
Mark Chirnside, chief executive officer, Ukash, said, "This is a
tremendous accolade for Ukash after a fantastic year that has seen
the company rapidly expand. Ukash has established key strategic
partnerships that have allowed us to significantly improve our
offering and appeal to a wider range of consumers around the world.
I am proud of our achievements over the last year and as a company
we are already forging ahead to make 2010 even more successful then
2009."
Winners of these awards have now been shortlisted for the
'Best-in-Category' distinction, and winners will be announced at
the Paybefore Awards ceremony on 22 February at the Prepaid Expo in
the USA.
